From the time we were first married, we always thought fostering & adopting kids would be an amazing experience. It was something we thought we’d do when the kids we planned to have eventually were “older”. Well, it took nearly 6 years to get pregnant with our oldest, Carson. It was a high-risk pregnancy. And, a couple years after his birth, we weren’t having much luck getting pregnant again. We began discussing adoption and, shortly thereafter, we were made aware of a situation through a friend at our local church that led to our first foster placement and eventually our first adopted child.
Since then, we have adopted 3 boys, fostered other children, testified in court multiple times on behalf of foster children, taken 100’s of hours of courses on parenting, child psychology and development, and helped other families navigate the foster and adoption process, and networked to help find foster kids and potential adoptive parents their forever families.
